One qualification, a continent of opportunity
This training enables graduates to care for people of all ages across every area of nursing. The generalist nursing training concludes after three years with the professional qualification of "nursing specialist." Since graduates can work in all areas of nursing after their training, they have a wide range of employment and development opportunities.
The professional qualification is automatically recognised throughout the EU — meaning it is also possible to work as a nursing specialist in other EU countries beyond Germany, should your career take you there.
Because the qualification is generalist rather than narrowly specialised, graduates keep genuine flexibility — the freedom to choose a care setting, and later a specialisation, that suits them.
EU-Wide Recognition
Work as a nursing specialist in any of the 27 EU member states, not just Germany.
Immediate Employment
Begin your career as a registered nurse right after your state exam — no additional licensing wait.
Specialisation Paths
Move into hospitals, psychiatric care, paediatrics, or outpatient nursing as your interests develop.
